Better late than never....right?

Ok, so I have a confession to make. I never actually finished Ada's doll house in time for her third birthday. Everything got so hectic and she got so many presents anyway it kind of got put on the back burner until I had time to complete it. Six weeks later and that day finally came. While Ada was at Creche Freddy and I got busy decorating. With bits and pieces sourced from near and afar the end result is 'eclectic' to say the least.

The crochet rugs on the floor and dinning table and the quilt on the master bed were a gift from Allana aka High Maintenance Hippy (thank peeps!). The Native American rugs on the floor in the master bedroom and living room are antique flannel patches that were included in cigarette packets. These examples are from the 1920's and honestly, will end up framed and be replaced by some old lace doilies (but they did look nice for the photos). All the furniture pieces are from ebay and various op shops and markets. There are still a few jobs to do, like install a bath and hang some curtains and pictures on the walls but that will likley take another six weeks so don't hold your breath.

And what did Miss Ada think? 'Ooh how lovely, a present for mieeeeeeeeeeeee!'

  1. Yay for Ada! I love it Estelle you have found lots of really interesting pieces there. I especially love the little organ - it is just like the one my Nan has that I played on when I was a youngster! :)

  2. i very much like the idea that you're doing up the house, just as much miniature style as in the place you're living in (i recall your tutorial that may come in handy when i get to that stage). i like the interiors, clean, stark and so open to all suggestions and intents of the player(s). like it a lot! i think my name is ada for now.

  3. It is the sweetest little house how could she not love it and you can add to it. No one gets the house and all the furnishings in one go. It's prime real estate ... there's hard earned in that baby.
I have a set of chairs and table like the green one, mine in yellow.
