flea market finds

The Flea Market Faeries have been most generous with me this week, with lot's of goodies popping up for mere pennies. Two vintage tablecloths (including the one on the table), two ace plastic and cane baskets (I heart these BIG TIME). A roll of groovy floral wallpaper ('groovy' omg kill me now, that word belongs in a museum not in blogland), a teeny tiny, Delft teacup and a 70's Fisher Price Activity centre (didn't everybody have one of these?). The thing that most impressed me with this weeks goodies is that the grand total only came to $19 (hello, bargain!) and, I found a $20 in one of my old handbags (see I told you the Flea Faeries were on my side) completely guilt free flea hunting.

for more thrifty shenanigans pop over to the mistress of vintage, Sophie from Her Library Adventures.

  1. No no! Groovy is fine. We're old now, we can say it ironically, or think we're saying it ironically. Actually, we can say whatever we like and i say groovy all the time and am not willing to admit it's not cool. Oh no, is 'cool' ok? Whatever. A ROLL of wallpaper! The baskets! And the Fisher Price! Those cheeky little faeries!

  5. Amazing finds. I adore that Fisher Price Activity centre. I always wanted one of those for my boys. It's so retro looking compared with the other plastic baby crap around. Adore everything... Especially the baskets. Brilliant finds. Pruxxx

  6. Oh wow. I love those baskets too but never find one and my girls had one of those Fisher Price play centres hanging on the side of their cot when they were babies (during the mid 1980s). Great finds.

  7. I love groovy. Use it all the time. If I have a fifth child, she/he will be called 'Groovy'.

That blue tablecloth is the pick for me ... and I'm imagining all the boing-sounds, and click-clacks and bells that go with that Fisher Price Activity Centre. Memories can be so noisy. Groovy.

  8. I always say groovy, but then I dont think Im very cool. I have always had cool jobs and done cool things, but feel like a bit of an imposter as I'm a total geek at heart.
Love that wallpaper though, certainly groovy to the highest degree.

  9. Hello FisherPrice activity centre - no batteries to be seen here! I had one of those when I was a little tyke (mum and dad still have it in their garage I am 99% sure of it!), and recall pressing a red squishy half circle and it pushed a metal ball which hit a bell. What a silly thing to remember. Thanks for the blast x

  11. We have such similar taste. I cannot resist the floral linens from the 60's/70's. Feel free to add your link to my Thrift Share Monday post. You would fit right in.
